From local folklore traditions to the Renaissance beauties, from landscapes with their rolling hills and perched villages, meeting locals and the products of the land, up to the majestic views over the Adriatic coastline. A journey through the art, natural beauties and flavours of Italy; all of this just in one region.
The travel day by day
Itinerary
Day 1
Arrival in Marche, welcomed by ViaggieMiraggi Marche representatives. Accommodation and introduction to the trip schedule.
Dinner and overnight stay.
Day 2: Urbino
After breakfast, departure for Urbino where, lead by a tour guide, we will visit the Dukes of Montefeltro and Raffaello’s homeland, followed by a visit to the Ducal Palace; a true jewel of Renaissance architecture and art.
Lunch in the city center to savior local cuisine and the products of local food producers. Free time to walk through the alleys and indulge in sightseeing.
Late afternoon dinner and overnight stay in the same accomodation.
Day 3: Gola del Furlo and Piobbico
After breakfast, departure for the hinterland with a first stop at Gola del Furlo, an ancient section of the Via Flaminia; a place of intense natural beauty, it carries a rich history tied to the partisan resistance occured during WWII.
The second stop will be Piobbico, with a visit to the famous Brancaleoni Castle and its lovely Old Town. Lunch will be hosted at a small “locanda” in the village of Baciardi, just below Monte Nerone. As many family-run business, their history and wonderful life project is certainly one to be told.
Late afternoon departure for the province of Ancona, with accommodation in an organic farmhouse near Recanati. The activity is run by a kind couple who devote themselves to social activities such as fostering and offering support to the mentally impaired. Dinner and overnight stay.
Day 4: Terre del Verdicchio
An entire day devolved to discovering the Verdicchio dei Castelli area in Jesi, home to the world famous white wine. First stop at an organic winery and the consortium, with visit to the cellar and transfer to nearby Cupramontana.
Welcomed by a referent of a local association, we will then visit the International Museum of Wine Labels and the small medieval village. The views over the furrowed countryside, with its vineyards and mountains in the background is gorgeous. Lunch held in a historic trattoria in the old town.
Afternoon transfer to the Morro d’Alba area, visit to the city walls and to the small Museum of Tools. Surrounded by the beautiful hillside, we’ll taste local red wine at sunset. Back to the hotel and overnight stay.
Day 5: Conero and Ancona
Breakfast, then transfer to Monte Conero nature reserve with a walk through the woods accompanied by a specialized guide who will explain the complexity of this singular ecosystem and help to better understand such environment and the history of the area. The trails are suitable for any hiker and not particularly challenging. Possibility of renting an e-bike on site.
Free lunch at the restaurant at the top or in one of the local restaurants in the Bay of Portonovo lying just below.
Afternoon visit to Ancona, with a walk through the old town and visit to the Museo Tattile; an experience into the world of sculpture. Dinner at a typical restaurant specialized in Stoccafisso, a local culinary delicacy.
Return to the hotel and overnight stay.
Day 6: Recanati – Ascoli Piceno
Breakfast, followed by a visit to Recanati and to the home of its famous poet, Giacomo Leopardi. After that, there will be the chance for a swift visit to the Accordion Museum in Castelfidardo or the Santa Casa in Loreto. Departure for Ascoli Piceno, an authentic jewel nestled the ancient Piceno territory.
Adding to the old town experience amidst beautiful buildings and its wonderful Piazza del Popolo, we will meet the referent of an association devolved to expanding the use of bicycles, both as a sport as well as a means of transport. Lunch and a guided visit of the city. In the late afternoon get back to the hotel, where dinner and an overnight stay await.
Day 7
After breakfast, transfer to the airport (depending on the effective schedule), greetings and the end of another great journey.

Conditions
